1. Transition trigger and governance

2. Pre-transition inventory

4. Canonical transition statements

Perusahaan menetapkan statement yang konsisten untuk:

  • Product or service rename.
  • What remains unchanged.

6. Historical continuity

Historical pages are retained when accurate and useful. Use explicit relationships such as Formerly known as, Acquired by, Merged into, Subsidiary of, Historical brand, Current legal entity, and Current operating brand.

Old page may be redirected when it duplicates current information, but historical evidence should not be destroyed merely to create a clean narrative.

7. Domain migration protocol

  • Inventory every indexable URL and inbound relationship.
  • Create one-to-one redirect mapping where an equivalent destination exists.
  • Avoid redirecting all URLs to the homepage.
  • Update canonical, sitemap, internal links, schema IDs, analytics, verification, forms, media, and profiles.
  • Monitor 404, redirect chain, indexation, source persistence, citation drift, and AI confusion.

8. Leadership change protocol

Record previous role, current role, effective date, appointment or departure source, authority boundary, spokesperson, biography update, author page, media reference, and historical continuity. Former leaders are not erased from historical material, but current leadership must be unmistakable.

9. Merger and acquisition knowledge map

Map buyer, seller, target, surviving legal entity, operating brand, subsidiary relationship, product ownership, domain ownership, leadership, location, and transition date. Announcement language must distinguish announced, agreed, completed, integrated, and retired stages.

10. Validation query set

  • Old name and new name.
  • Legal entity and operating brand.
  • Who owns the company.
  • Founder and current leadership.
  • Product and service relationship.
  • Old domain and new domain.
  • Merger, acquisition, subsidiary, or spin-off relationship.
  • Location and market coverage.
  • Competitor and category query.

Record engine, date, session, raw answer, citation, accuracy, failure status, confidence, and limitation.

11. Incident register

Incident examples include wrong ownership, former leader presented as current, old brand treated as separate company, acquired company described as independent, discontinued product shown as active, outdated address, duplicate entity, or domain confusion.

12. Monitoring cadence

Monitoring is event-triggered immediately after transition, then repeated according to risk. High-impact merger or rebrand may require weekly observation during the initial period. Lower-risk change can use monthly or quarterly review.

13. Acceptance criteria

  • Transition inventory and relationship map completed.
  • Official source pages updated and approved.
  • Redirect and canonical validation passed.
  • Schema relationship and @id continuity validated.
  • Priority third-party corrections submitted.
  • Old and new query set observed.
  • Open incidents, limitation, and owner recorded.

Limitations

This methodology does not replace legal, corporate secretarial, tax, regulatory, data protection, or transaction advice. AI systems and external sources may retain old information after corrections. The objective is to reduce ambiguity, preserve continuity, and improve traceability.
